TE Connectivity 215083-2 Micro-MaTch 12-Pin 1.27mm Pitch - Flat Ribbon Cable Assembly

  • TE Connectivity 215083-2 (TE internal description: MICRO-MATCH MOW.12P): a dual-end flat ribbon cable assembly terminated with a 12-position Micro-MaTch Male-on-Wire (MOW) IDC connector on each end, on standard 1.27 mm pitch, 28 AWG, 12-conductor flat ribbon cable.
  • Built on 1.27 mm (.050 in) centerline 28 AWG (0.08–0.09 mm² conductor cross-section) flat ribbon cable, with a Micro-MaTch Industrial-grade operating temperature range of -40 °C to +105 °C (the red-housing Industrial variant); the alternative black-housing Value-line variant operates from -30 °C to +85 °C and is offered as a build option for cost-sensitive applications where extended temperature range and high vibration durability are not required.
  • Engineered around the Micro-MaTch contact-spring system that separates contact-force generation from wire termination, preventing the fretting corrosion that is the traditional failure mode in tin-plated IDC connectors under vibration and thermal cycling. The contact's positioning spring absorbs relative movement between male and female contacts caused by vibration and thermal expansion, maintaining gas-tight contact integrity across long service life.
  • Custom overall length, alternative pin count within the Micro-MaTch family (4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20 positions), choice of Industrial (red, -40 to +105 °C) or Value-line (black, -30 to +85 °C) housing, alternative end configuration (Male-on-Wire to Male-on-Wire, Male-on-Wire to Female-on-Wire, single-ended pigtail, or terminated to a board header), matched mating PCB header kits, and overlay protection (heat-shrink boot, expandable braid, convoluted loom) available on request — submit a quote request for non-stock Micro-MaTch configurations.

What information do you need to provide a quote for a custom wire harness?

To provide an accurate quote and lead time, please provide:

  1. Technical Drawing or Diagram: Showing pinouts, lengths, and tolerances.
  2. Bill of Materials (BOM): Listing specific connectors (MPN) and wire gauges (AWG).
  3. Estimated Annual Usage (EAU): Helping us optimize pricing for your volume. Note: If you do not have a formal drawing, our engineering team can help create one based on your physical sample.
Can you suggest cost-saving alternatives for expensive connectors (e.g., TE, Molex, JST)?

Yes. We offer variety of alternative components.

We have extensive supply chain relationships in Taiwan and can suggest"Functionally Equivalent"alternatives that are fully compatible with major brands like TE, Molex, or JST but at a significantly lower cost. We will provide datasheets and samples of the alternative components for your approval before production.

How do you ensure quality control for custom cable assemblies?

Every single cable assembly undergoes rigorous testing before leaving our Taiwan facility. Our standard QC process includes:

  • 100% Continuity Testing: Ensuring no opens, shorts, or miswires.
  • Pull Force Testing: Verifying crimp strength.
  • Visual Inspection: Checking for cosmetic defects and label accuracy.
  • Hi-Pot Testing: Available upon request for high-voltage applications to ensure insulation integrity.
