Molex 87568-2093 20-Pin 2.00mm Pitch Dual-End - Flat Ribbon Cable Assembly

  • Dual-end flat ribbon cable assembly terminated with a Molex Milli-Grid 87568-2093 IDC receptacle on each end, 20 circuits arranged as a 2-row × 10-position configuration on a 2.00 mm × 2.00 mm grid. The receptacles are cable-to-board type with a center polarization key and a locking friction ramp, finished with 0.38 µm (15 µin) selective gold plating over nickel in the mating area and tin plating over nickel in the IDT termination area.
  • Terminated on 1.00 mm pitch flat ribbon cable, 28 AWG, 7-strand stranded tinned copper, conforming to UL 2651 or UL 2678 (80 °C, 300 V rated cable) per Molex product specification PS-87568-004. Using the specified UL-listed ribbon stock preserves the qualified IDT contact geometry; substitute cable styles are built only on engineering approval.
  • Rated 1 A per contact and 125 V AC (RMS) / 125 V DC maximum working voltage per Molex PS-87568-004, with Molex's standard temperature-rise methodology referenced to a 30 °C maximum rise over ambient. Housing is PBT glass-filled, black, UL 94 V-0 flammability rated. Contact material is phosphor bronze with single-beam contacts engineered for a long wiping action that breaks through any oxide film at insertion. The part is RoHS 3 compliant (EU 2015/863), REACH SVHC compliant, low-halogen, and lead-free. Strain relief is available separately and is recommended for high-vibration installations.
  • Custom overall length, ribbon cable style (UL 2651, UL 2678, UL 2643, rainbow or gray), conductor count pre-cut from a wider ribbon, alternative pinout (straight-through 1-to-20, mirrored, or custom point-to-point pin-mapped), alternative 87568-series housing variant and shrink-boot or strain-relief termination available on request — submit a quote request for non-stock configurations.

What information do you need to provide a quote for a custom wire harness?

To provide an accurate quote and lead time, please provide:

  1. Technical Drawing or Diagram: Showing pinouts, lengths, and tolerances.
  2. Bill of Materials (BOM): Listing specific connectors (MPN) and wire gauges (AWG).
  3. Estimated Annual Usage (EAU): Helping us optimize pricing for your volume. Note: If you do not have a formal drawing, our engineering team can help create one based on your physical sample.
Can you suggest cost-saving alternatives for expensive connectors (e.g., TE, Molex, JST)?

Yes. We offer variety of alternative components.

We have extensive supply chain relationships in Taiwan and can suggest"Functionally Equivalent"alternatives that are fully compatible with major brands like TE, Molex, or JST but at a significantly lower cost. We will provide datasheets and samples of the alternative components for your approval before production.

How do you ensure quality control for custom cable assemblies?

Every single cable assembly undergoes rigorous testing before leaving our Taiwan facility. Our standard QC process includes:

  • 100% Continuity Testing: Ensuring no opens, shorts, or miswires.
  • Pull Force Testing: Verifying crimp strength.
  • Visual Inspection: Checking for cosmetic defects and label accuracy.
  • Hi-Pot Testing: Available upon request for high-voltage applications to ensure insulation integrity.
