What is a Non-Integrated (Discrete) RJ45 Connector?

A Non-Integrated or 'Discrete' RJ45 connector is a standard modular jack that does not contain internal magnetic transformers. The magnetic isolation and filtering components are placed separately on the PCB (LAN Transformer). This architecture is often used to lower connector costs or to accommodate specific board layouts.

Are your discrete RJ45 jacks compatible with reflow soldering?

Yes. We offer high-temperature discrete jacks made with LCP (Liquid Crystal Polymer) or High-Temp Nylon housing materials specifically designed to withstand IR reflow soldering temperatures (up to 260°C), making them ideal for automated SMT assembly lines.

What performance categories (Cat5e/Cat6) are available?

Although the connector is passive, the physical geometry affects performance. We manufacture discrete jacks that meet Cat5e (100MHz) and Cat6 (250MHz) physical layer requirements, ensuring minimal crosstalk and return loss when paired with the appropriate PCB layout and magnetics.
